In November 2016, the Centre for Multilateral Negotiations held a one-day interactive workshop on negotiation skills and management at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The workshop forms part of the high-profile two-week course on Multilateral Environmental Agreements, international environmental law-making and diplomacy, intended to increase the effectiveness of negotiations. Further, the aim of the course is to equip present and future negotiators of multilateral environmental agreements with the information and experiences of others in the area of international environmental law-making in order to improve the impact and implementation of these key treaties. The course targets experienced government officials engaged in international environmental negotiations.
